My Brain Food Garden

Green Leaf Vegetables

Leafy green vegetables are an important part of a healthy diet. They’re packed with vitamins, minerals and fiber but low in calories.

Eating a diet rich in leafy greens can offer numerous health benefits including reduced risk of obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure and mental decline.

And the great thing is: They are not only good for your health, but also very easy in your (balcony) garden plús they grow almost year round.

Tomatoes contain a powerful antioxidant, lycopene, which can help protect the brain from free radical damage to cells. They also contain vitamin C and biotin, which promotes healthy skin, hair, and nails.

Tomatoes are my favorite vegetable (Or fruit? It doesn’t matter – it’s healthy and that’s what counts!). I love to have a few (cherry) tomato plants because no matter what you’re craving for, a (cherry) tomato does always seem to go with it. A lunch sandwich, salad, starter bruschetta, couscous, stir-fry and… Well, I can go on forever, but you get the point.
